Dynamics of Open Quantum Systems—Markovian Semigroups and Beyond

نویسندگان

چکیده

The idea of an open quantum system was introduced in the 1950s as a response to problems encountered areas such nuclear magnetic resonance and decay unstable atoms. Nowadays, dynamical models systems have become essential components many applications mechanics. This paper provides overview fundamental concepts systems. All underlying definitions, algebraic methods crucial theorems are presented. In particular, semigroups with corresponding time-independent generators characterized. Furthermore, evolution that induce memory effects discussed. Finally, measures non-Markovianity recapped interpreted from perspective physical relevance.

compactifications and representations of transformation semigroups

this thesis deals essentially (but not from all aspects) with the extension of the notion of semigroup compactification and the construction of a general theory of semitopological nonaffine (affine) transformation semigroup compactifications. it determines those compactification which are universal with respect to some algebric or topological properties. as an application of the theory, it is i...

Stability of additive functional equation on discrete quantum semigroups

We construct  a noncommutative analog of additive functional equations on discrete quantum semigroups and show that this noncommutative functional equation has Hyers-Ulam stability on amenable discrete quantum semigroups. The discrete quantum semigroups that we consider in this paper are in the sense of van Daele, and the amenability is in the sense of Bèdos-Murphy-Tuset. Our main result genera...

Dynamics and Simulation of Open Quantum Systems

All systems are open to an essentially uncontrollable environment that acts as a source of decoherence and dissipation. In some cases the environment’s only effect is to add a weak relaxation mechanism and thus can be ignored for short timescales. In others, however, the presence of the environment can fundamentally alter the behavior of the system. Such is the case in mesoscopic superconductor...
